Halloween is a fun time to get creatively spooky in the kitchen. And what better way to treat your goblins and ghouls than with a Monster Burger or Sandwich? Not only are they deliciously scary, but they’re also an easy dinner for Halloween night or a spooktastic addition to any Halloween bash. Choose between a juicy hamburger or a crispy chicken patty – either way, your famished fiends won’t be disappointed.
You can make these monster burgers using homemade burgers or chicken cutlets. We used small fried chicken cutlets. But you can also grab some frozen ones and cook them up. You can also make the meat patties ahead so that no cooking is needed on the big day.
Serve these monster sandwiches with Air Fryer Mummy Dogs with Bacon Recipe or Yummy Mummy Mini Pizzas for a Halloween party or buffet.

Monster Burger Ingredients:
- Hamburgers or Chicken Patties – Homemade or frozen that are cooked
- Burger bun or sandwich bread of your choice
- Lettuce, tomato, and your preferred fixings
- Cheese slice – America, cheddar, pepper jack, or Swiss are all excellent options.
- Green olives with pimento
- Toothpicks
- Pickle spear slice or pickles that you can slice
Monster Sandwich Instructions:
Grill ‘Em Dead: Cook the Patties
Start by cooking your favorite patty (hamburger or chicken). While the patty is sizzling away, let the anticipation build for the monstrous creation you’re about to make.
Create The Body:
Once the patty is cooked, place it on the bottom half of your bun or bread. You can layer the sandwich any way you prefer. It’s best to put lettuce, tomato, and onion on the bottom bun under the meat patty.
Slide that pickle spear slice on top of the patty, letting it hang out like a lolling tongue. Now, your monster sandwich has some attitude! Use a knife or kitchen scissors to cut a zig-zag along one edge of the cheese slice. Lay the slice on top of the pickle. Place the top bun on the cheese. You can add ketchup to the cheese for a bit more gore.
Creating The Monster’s Glare:
For the eyes, skewer the olives with toothpicks. Then, insert them on the top half of the bun, giving your monster its menacing gaze.
Serve monster sandwiches with a side of “witches’ fingers” (french fries) or “zombie brains” (creamy coleslaw), and your family will be howling for more.
