Top a baked brie round with a maple pecan syrup for an easy and festive appetizer.
One of our most popular recipes is Cranberry and Brie Baked Cheese Appetizer Recipe. It is a delicious recipe of brie topped with homemade cranberry sauce and then baked in a crescent roll crust. It is amazing! And it’s great for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Maple pecan baked brie is made similarly but without the crescent roll crust. For this easy appetizer, you simply bake the brie and then top with a homemade maple pecan sugar and butter topping. It is delicious and perfect for fall.
Brie definitely has a strong flavor. If you’ve never had it before, you may want to start with a small round and go from there. Make sure to serve this appetizer warm alongside some Apple Cider Bourbon Whiskey Cocktail or a big batch of Caramel Apple Wassail Recipe with Essential Oils.
Maple Pecan Baked Brie Ingredients:
- 14-ounce wheel of Brie (can be bigger or smaller)
- Baguettes, or crackers
- Pecans
- Butter
- Brown sugar
- Maple syrup
Maple Pecan Baked Brie Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350˚. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the brie on the parchment paper, set aside.
While the oven heats up, slice the bread into ½ inch slices, set aside. You can slice the bread ahead of time and store it in a storage bag until ready to serve.
Next, roughly chop the pecans in half. You can leave some full but having slightly smaller pieces makes them easier to eat. Like the bread, this can be done ahead of time and stored until ready to use.
When the oven is ready, bake the brie in the preheated oven for 5-8 minutes. You just to warm it up so it’s soft and creamy inside. Don’t bake it until it explodes. You do not need to peel the brie. It is baked in the casing.
While the brie bakes, prepare the maple pecan topping. Melt the butter over low heat in a saucepan.
Once the butter is completely melted add the sugar and maple syrup to the saucepan. Stir over low heat JUST until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat.
Stir in the pecans so they are all coated and saucy.
When the brie is done baking place it on a serving platter. Pour the pecans and their sauce over the top of the warm brie. You want to do this right before serving so the brie is warm and soft.
Place the bread slices around the Brie, add a cheese knife if needed.
To serve the brie, use a small cheese knife to cut the cheese open. Scoop out the soft cheese and spread on a piece of bread or cracker.
