Preheat the oven to 350˚ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the brie on the parchment paper, set aside
Slice the baguette or bread into ½ inch slices, set aside until ready to use. You can store it in a bag if serving later.
Roughly chop the pecans and set aside.
When the oven has reached 350 degrees, bake the Brie for 5-8 minutes, just to warm it up. Don’t bake it until it explodes.
Meanwhile, start the topping. Melt the butter over low heat in a saucepan.
Once the butter is melted, add the sugar and maple syrup to the saucepan.
Stir over low heat JUST until the sugar is dissolved.
When the sugar has dissolved remove from the heat. Stir in the pecans. Turn off the heat.
When the Brie is done baking, remove it to a place it on a serving platter.
Carefully pour the pecans and their sauce over the top of the Brie on the platter.
Place the bread slices around the Brie, add a cheese knife if needed, and serve!
