Maple Pecan Baked Brie

Top a baked brie round with a maple pecan syrup for an easy and festive appetizer.

Ingredients
  

  • 14- ounce wheel of Brie can be bigger or smaller
  • 1-2 Baguettes or crackers,
  • cup pecans
  • 2 Tablespoons of butter
  • 3 Tablespoons of brown sugar packed
  • 3 Tablespoons of maple syrup

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350˚ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the brie on the parchment paper, set aside
  • Slice the baguette or bread into ½ inch slices, set aside until ready to use. You can store it in a bag if serving later.
  • Roughly chop the pecans and set aside.
  • When the oven has reached 350 degrees, bake the Brie for 5-8 minutes, just to warm it up. Don’t bake it until it explodes.
  • Meanwhile, start the topping. Melt the butter over low heat in a saucepan.
  • Once the butter is melted, add the sugar and maple syrup to the saucepan.
  • Stir over low heat JUST until the sugar is dissolved.
  • When the sugar has dissolved remove from the heat. Stir in the pecans. Turn off the heat.
  • When the Brie is done baking, remove it to a place it on a serving platter.
  • Carefully pour the pecans and their sauce over the top of the Brie on the platter.
  • Place the bread slices around the Brie, add a cheese knife if needed, and serve!
