Make baked chicken wings in an oven or air fryer and coat with homemade buffalo sauce. A delicious buffalo wing recipe that is ready in under an hour.
Buffalo wings are one of life’s great pleasures. They are super easy to make at home, too! These baked chicken wings are frankly not quite the same as the deep-fried wings you get in a restaurant but they are just as delicious, easy to make, and much more inexpensive. Because they aren’t fried in oil, they are also a little bit healthier.
These wings were baked in a normal oven. You can also make this same recipe by cooking the wings in an air fryer. Turn the heat down to 375 degrees and cook the same way.

Oven Baked Chicken Wings with Buffalo Sauce
Oven Baked Chicken Wings Ingredients:
- Buffalo wings, separated
- Baking powder
- Flour
- Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish *optional*
- Celery and carrot sticks plus blue cheese dressing for dipping
- Homemade Buffalo Sauce
Oven Baked Chicken Wings with Buffalo Sauce Directions:
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray. Separate the wings from the drums and pat them dry with a paper towel. Trim the wing tips if desired.
Mix together the baking powder and flour in a small bowl and sprinkle lightly onto each wing, tossing to coat. Transfer the wings to the baking sheet and place them into the preheated oven to bake for 15 minutes.
Turn the wings over and bake for another 15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Meanwhile, make a batch of homemade buffalo sauce using butter, hot sauce, garlic, and vinegar while the chicken wings bake. This homemade sauce is one of our reader’s favorites!
Remove the chicken wings from the oven and spoon the sauce over each wing, turning to coat evenly. Return the wings to the oven to bake for another 3-5 minutes.
Once the wings are finished cooking, take them out of the oven. You can add more buffalo sauce if desired. Place them on a platter or in a bowl. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with a side of celery and carrot sticks and ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
Cooked buffalo wings can be stored safely in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. If stored in the freezer, wings are good for up to 6 months.
