Cheesy chicken and herb cups are another easy appetizer recipe. They are great for parties, game day, and potlucks.
You are going to love how easy these are to make using only 5 ingredients: wonton wrappers, diced cooked chicken, herbed cream cheese, milk and cheese. The sliced green onions on top are a nice garnish, but optional. These are great for using up leftover chicken. You can also grab a rotisserie chicken and dice that up.
You will use wonton wrappers for the dough of the cups. These are most often found in the refrigerated section of your grocery store. If you have leftover wrappers, you can use them to make these delicious Caramel Apple Pie Egg Rolls.
Cheesy Chicken and Herb Wonton Cups
Preheat oven to 350. Place wonton wrappers into a mini muffin tin. Use a tart shaper to gently press the wonton wrappers into the mini muffin cups. Spray the wontons with nonstick cooking spray. Cover the tray with a towel and set aside.
Next, make the filling for the cups. In a mixing bowl, add chicken, cream cheese, milk and shredded cheddar cheese. Make sure the cream cheese is a little soft to make mixing easier.
Stir well with a wooden spoon or a spatula until all the ingredients are combined and the chicken is well coated.
Fill the wonton cups with the chicken filling. Remove the towel from the mini muffin pan. It’s easiest to fill the cups using a tablespoon portion scoop to scoop mixture into each wonton wrapper. But a kitchen spoon works, too.
Once all the cups are filled, bake in your preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until wontons are golden brown. Top with slice green onions, if you want, and serve. These are great both hot and cold so they are perfect for all kinds of events.

- 24 wonton wrappers
- 2 cups chicken, cooked and cut into small pieces
- 1 container, 7.5 oz, garlic and herb cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Sliced green onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Place wonton wrappers into a mini muffin tin and press into each cavity using a tart shaper. Spray wontons with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, add chicken, cream cheese, milk and shredded cheddar cheese and mix well.
- Use a tablespoon portion scoop to scoop mixture into each wonton wrapper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until wontons are golden brown.
- Serve topped with sliced green onions.
