This caramel apple cocktail recipe is easy to make with only three ingredients!
It’s Chelsey from Budget Girl again! If you follow my blog, you know I’ve been getting ready for fall this month. (Yeah, I know it’s August. But I’m done with summer, sorry.)
When we were in college, we were huge nerds. We didn’t go to parties and we took as many morning classes as we could, so we could get it out of the way and spend the rest of the day playing video games. Huge nerds.
That said, we did enjoy a few drinks from time to time while we played cards…occasionally while writing papers (“I do my best writing when I’m drunk.” – Anyone who’s ever taken a creative writing class, probably). My favorite, for a long time, was Dekueyper’s Green Apple Pucker.
While looking for the ingredients for my triple watermelon martinis recipe, I came across the green apple pucker and knew it would make a perfect post.
One thing I discovered (actually, someone probably told me about it) was that you could mix butterscotch schnapps with the green apple pucker and it would taste like a caramel apple. It does! But I wanted to do that in a cocktail, not just a shot. That problem was solved with apple cider (I wish all problems could be solved with apple cider).
Caramel Apple Cocktail Recipe
- 2 oz butterscotch schnapps
- 2 oz green apple pucker schnapps
- 4 oz apple cider (cold or warmed)
Put a shot (about 2 ounces each) of the butterscotch and the apple pucker into an 8 ounce glass. Pour 4 ounces of apple cider over it. Done!
The cider can be chilled or warmed. I’m partial to keeping it chilled for this particular recipe, but it’s delicious either way. (For an apple cider recipe that is best warm, check out my apple cider bourbon whiskey cocktail).
If I’ve ever doubted that butterscotch tastes just like caramel, I was wrong. It really does. Wow.
Anyone else ready for fall? If so, stop by my blog for some apple beermosas, apple dumplings, and a fall trail mix recipe I wrote for a contest recently. Pumpkin month will also be starting next month, so we have that to look forward to. 🙂
Happy drinking!
