I love to try new sangria recipes! I also love pineapples so combining the two for a summer outing was easy. White wine is combined with pineapple juice and soda pop to create a twist on ta traditional sangria recipe.
I’m not much of an alcohol drinker, but I love Sangria – probably because it tastes like Kool-Aid!Ā The first time I made this sangria I took it to a friends house for a pool party and it was a huge hit.Ā When I heard that this week’s Sunday Supper theme was picnics, I new that pineapple sangria would be a great addition.
Sangria works really well for picnics because it’s best to make the drink a day before hand and let it set so the flavors can mellow.Ā Just pack it up in a Thermos or other cooler for a tropical drink on the go.Ā My peach sangria recipe would also work well if you aren’t a fan of pineapples.Ā Mango Pineapple Green TeaĀ Sangria Mocktail is also great to bring along for the kids or anyone who prefers a non-alcoholic beverage.
I’m not a big fan of adding soda pop to sangria — it’s just not authentic! But, in this case, I conceded and it was really good. If you want sweeter sangria, though, just add more simple syrup.
Pineapple Sangria
Ingredients
- 3 cups pineapple juice
- 1 bottle white wine
- 1 orange, 1 lemon, 1 lime
- Lemon-lime soda pop
- 2 Tablespoons (or more) simple syrup
Instructions
Pour pineapple juice and wine in to a pitcher (I prefer one with a lid).
Add in simple syrup, tasting to get it to desired sweetness.
Squeeze juices from orange, lemon, and lime in to the pitcher. Then slice the fruit and put in to the pitcher as well.
Chill pitcher until read to serve -- at least a few hours, but I like to do it a day in advance.
When ready to serve, add ice and 1 cup of lemon-lime soda.

Pineapple sangria… YUM! Perfect for a picnic and the start of summer!
Can I just say… pineapple sangria sounds like heaven. Goodness I want one of those.
Sangria is one of my very favorite summer cocktails. I love this recipe. I never thought about it before, but you’re right, it kind of does taste like kool-aid.
Awesome – pinning this now! I have a sangria party every year, and I like to make one red sangria, one “white” sangria. Last year, for the white one, I did a peach sangria. Pineapple would be fun this year.
A sangria party! How fun is that?! I might have to try one of those. š
This sounds like a fab sangria! Oh my I think I could drink the whole thing.
I’m with ya! I’m not a huge drinker, but I love me some Sangria! This version looks DI-vine!
I have never tried a pineapple sangria. Sounds delicious! š
I do enjoy a good Sangria and your recipe looks great. Do you have particular type of white wine your prefer to use?
Something dry – this gets sweet on it’s own!
LOVE sangria…. and pineapple is truly inspired
I’m with you, Camille. Alcohol works as long as it takes like a milkshake, smoothie or soda =) I’m thinking your pineapple sangria is perfect for a picnic. But wouldn’t your drink be perfect with your delectable chocolate chip cookies, too?
Looks great for a hot afternoon.
You usually see red wine sangria but I love the idea of a white wine one. Thanks so much for sharing!!
