Made with ground beef and ground pork, meat pie is a simple, easy and filling dinner made with ground meat, potatoes, and pie crust.
Years ago I read a blog post that included a story about this family eating meat pie on Christmas Eve. It was like a real life Dickens story on my computer screen. Meat pie is a bit like shepherd’s pie but in a pie crust. Meat, potatoes and pie crust doesn’t sound so bad, right? This is a simple but filling meal.
This meat pie is the ground beef and pork version of our Cornbread Chicken Casserole. It’s just good old fashioned comfort food your entire family will love.
If you attend a midnight mass or church service on Christmas eve, make the meat pie ahead of time and simply warm it up for a filling late night or early morning meal when you return from service.

then top with the other pie crust. Prick the top crust a few times with a knife to vent steam. Crimp around the edges using the tines of the fork, and remove any excess dough. Cover the edges of the pie crust with aluminum foil.
