  • Permanent Marker, Black
  • White Yarn
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Straight Pins
  • Tape
  • Crop-A-Dile
  • ICE SKATE PATTERNS

Materials

  • Jumbo Craft Sticks
  • Wooden Snowflakes
  • White Tinsel Pom Poms
  • Iridescent Glitter Glue
  • Acrylic Craft Paint White and Gray
  • Craft Felt Gray and Blue

Instructions

  • Cut two jumbo craft sticks in half with scissors. Paint the four half craft sticks and two additional full craft sticks with grey acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.
  • Download, print, and cut out the ICE SKATE PATTERNS.
  • Using straight pins, secure the pattern to grey craft felt.
  • Cut out with scissors. Repeat with a second ice skate shape.
  • Cut the blade off of the ice skate boot on the pattern. Pin the ice skate boot only pattern onto blue craft felt.
  • Glue the blue felt ice skate boots on top of the grey felt ice skates with a glue gun and glue sticks.
  • Flip the skates over and trim any excess grey craft felt with scissors.
  • Use a Crop-A-Dile tool to punch out the lacing holes in the paper pattern. Use a black marker to mark where the holes go on the felt.
  • Use the Crop A Dile to punch the holes out of the felt.
  • Attach the two half craft sticks to the ice skate at the heel and the center of the boot with a glue gun and glue sticks.
  • Attach the full craft stick horizontally to the two vertical half craft sticks to complete the blades of the ice skates.
  • Measure and cut a 48” length of white yarn for each skate. Wrap the end in clear tape to assist with lacing.
  • Starting at the top of the skate, thread the yarn through the holes, wrapping it around the outer edge of the felt skate boot.
  • At the bottom, thread the yarn through the last hole again and then lace it back to the top hole.
  • Tie the yarn in a bow and trim any long ends with scissors. Repeat for the second skate.
  • Paint two wooden snowflakes with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat if necessary.
  • Accent the ice skate blades and snowflakes with iridescent glitter glue. Put the glue in dots along the blade. While it is still wet, use your finger or a paintbrush to spread it out.
  • Glue a small white tinsel pom to the center of each snowflake with a glue gun and glue sticks.
  • To finish, glue the snowflakes to the ice skates.
