How to Customize St. Patrick's Day Socks with Cricut Infusible Ink

Make a pair of green socks for St. Patrick’s Day using a pair from the dollar store, Cricut Infusible Ink, and a Cricut cutting machine.

Equipment

  • Butcher paper
  • Copy paper or cardstock

Materials

  • Cricut Infusible Ink
  • A pair of St. Patrick’s Day socks that are 90% or more polyester

Instructions

  • Open Cricut Design Space.
  • Click the link to the project in Design Space or add the text "Kiss Me" "I'm Irish" to the canvas.
  • Measure the bottom of the socks and adjust the text size to fit.
  • Click “Make it” on the top right of the screen.
  • On the next screen, choose how to load the Infusible Ink into the machine. Infusible Ink is cut on a standard grip mat so that you will choose the “For any material” option.
  • Click “Confirm” in the bottom right corner.
  • On the next screen, click the button to mirror the image. Click next.
  • Put the Infusible Ink sheet on a standard grip mat.
  • Browse Materials and choose Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets.
  • Follow the prompts to load the mat into the machine. 
  • When the mat is loaded properly, the “Go” button on the bottom right of the screen will highlight. Push that, and the machine will begin its cut.
  • Unload the mat when the cut is finished and click “Done” in Design Space.
  • Remove the Infusible Ink from the mat by pulling the mat away from the sheets.
  • Weed out the excess Infusible Ink by gently bending the sheets. 
  • Fold a piece of copy paper to fit into the foot of the sock. Slide it and make sure it is flat.
  • Follow the instructions on Cricut Heat Guide to press the Infusible Ink onto the socks.
