We have been watching a lot more television than normal this summer because grandma and grandpa have cable. I’m very glad we do not have cable! A pizza place is running a commercial for garlic bread pizza, which got me thinking that I could make garlic bread pizza for a lot less than they are charging. We happened to have a couple of loaves of garlic bread in the freezer so I gave it a try.
The pizza turned out great! It is very garlicky so don’t add any garlic to your sauce. The directions on the garlic bread said to bake it open faced for 8-12 minutes. I baked the bread for 5 minutes, then removed it from the oven and put the toppings on. I put it back in the oven for 4 minutes. The cheese did not get as brown as I liked because I was afraid that I was going to burn the bread. Next time I’ll try putting the sauce, cheese and toppings right on the frozen bread and baking it all together for the entire time.
