Popsicle Stick Owl Craft

Use popsicle sticks to make an adorable popsicle stick owl craft. Paint the popsicle sticks with craft paint and add paper eyes and a beak. Finish the owl off with paper plate wings. Use a pen to draw feathers as a finishing touch.

Equipment

Materials

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Googly eyes
  • Gray paint
  • Glue stick or Glue
  • Construction paper black and yellow
  • Paper plate

Instructions

  • Lay four popsicle sticks side by side on your work surface.
  • Use scissors to cut one popsicle stick in half. Glue half of the cut popsicle stick to the top of the 4 sticks. Glue the other half of the cut stick to the bottom.
  • Paint the sticks gray on both front and back. Set aside to dry.
  • Download, print and cut out the owl templates.
  • Use the templates to trace and cut out 2 large black circles, 2 small yellow circles, and 1 black beak/triangle.
  • To make the owl’s wings, use the outer part of the paper plate to give a wing effect.
  • Glue the yellow circles slightly off the center of the black circles to create the owl’s eyes.
  • Glue the eyes and beak to the front of the popsicle stick body. You can overlap them. Make sure it is completely dry.
  • Next glue the googly eyes to the center of the yellow circles. Glue the wings to the back of the body.
  • Use a pen to finish your owl by drawing small curves or feather-like drawings.
