Bananas Foster French Toast

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 12 thick slices of Challah or brioche bread
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 bananas sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium high heat.
  • In a large, shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and all spice.
  • Soak slices of bread in liquid mixture until they are well saturated.
  • Fry slices in batches just until outside is browned, 2-3 minutes.
  • Place bread slices on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake French toast for 12-15 minutes or until nicely browned.
  • Meanwhile, in a small saute pan, melt better over medium heat.
  • Add sugar and stir for 1 minute.
  • Add in bananas and stir to coat well with sugar/butter mixture.
  • Add cinnamon and stir.
  • Serve bananas over French toast.
