What’s your wish this holiday season? Tell UPS and they will donate money to a charity to help those in needs have a happy holiday season!

This holiday season, UPS is encouraging people to create holiday cheer by sharing your holiday wishes and stories on Twitter and Instagram. For every wish and story submitted, UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners (Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club or Toys for Tots) up to a total donation of $100,000! This is such a fun and easy way to help a family in need have a magical holiday season.Check out the #WishesDelivered site site for more information – and the video below:

In the spirit of giving, I am sharing my wish, too, on social media. Early this year I received an urgent Facebook message from a high school friend. A family friend of hers, whom I’ve never met, had just been rushed to the hospital and she was asking for prayers. Her friend was diagnosed with Leukemia within hours. Ten short months later this father and husband lost his battle with cancer. I can’t even begin to imagine this life altering change that happened to this family so quickly.

My wish this holiday season is that this mom, daughter, and son can spend their first holiday season without their dad and husband surrounded by family and loved ones. I honestly have no idea what that looks like for this family because I’ve never even met them. Thanks to social media, though, their story has touched my life and I wish I could help. So whether it is going to see family or having family come visit them, I wish that they would spend the holidays surrounded by loved ones making new memories and cherishing time spent together.

I’m sure so many of you have experienced loss or distance from loved ones this season. So why not reach out in your neighborhood? Maybe just a wave or a hello to a lonely neighbor. The kids and I are making goodie baskets full of treats for our neighbors. We are even planning to take baskets to the people we don’t know so we can hopefully spread a little holiday cheer in our little corner of the world.
