My husband and I have spent the past several years celebrating Valentine’s Day in.  His birthday is 3 days later and our anniversary is 3 weeks later so something had to give.   Plus everything is so overpriced on Valentine’s Day, which makes eating in that much better. My husband loves Italian food and I think that spaghetti and meatballs is a little bit iconic for Valentine’s Day!  Plus, I can make the marinara sauce days or weeks ahead of time making this a really easy main course for a Valentine’s Day menu.

I must have chocolate on Valentine’s Day so Chocolate Cream Puffs with Cherry Almond Filling are a must – plus they are super easy to make and can be made ahead of time.

As part of our table setting, I like to put a Valentine’s Day card at my husband’s plate.  It’s just something fun to add to the evening and I like to see if I can get him to shed a tear or two.  But I can’t seem to remember to actually pick up a card when I’m at the store, so I ordered him one from

It was so easy! I just sat in my recliner, took my time reading the cards and composing the perfect personalized message and the card showed up a few days later in my mailbox.  Now I had time to focus on planning the perfect Valentine’s Day dinner.  My daughter is obsessed with becoming a fairy, so I made these cute fairy Valentine cards for her to hand out to her friends, too! One less thing to worry about.

This year, Cardstore reminds us that ‘It’s Okay To Cry’ and embrace the emotions and sentiment from our loved ones. But you have to hurry and order because the deadline for ordering Valentine’s Day cards in order for them to arrive in time is February 6th.
