Are you looking for a unique Christmas gift that doesn’t involve a plus and a screen? If so I’ve got the perfect unique gift for tweens or kids!
With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about what to buy my kids as gifts. As kids get older it gets a lot harder to find a unique Christmas gift they will that doesn’t involve batteries. I want to get them an educational gift that they could learn a skill or be active with.
Since they already have plenty of scooters, bicycles, skateboards and the like, I also want something that doesn’t involve wheels. I want a gift that gets them outdoors more and can be used in the backyard. So how about a bow and arrow?
I’d never considered archery before, but there are so many benefits. Archery helps improve hand-eye coordination and balance. It increases focus and patience. And if the kids really like it they could even compete in tournaments. The world of bow and arrows can be confusing, but Genesis Bows make things easy. Children can’t outgrow a Genesis Bow because there is no specific draw length. Even mom and dad can give it at try.
We ordered our bow online using the Genesis Build-a-Bow. The custom features are amazing! You can customize the bow’s colors to match personalities and favorite picks. The process was very simple too:
You start with your basic bow and you can customize the riser, upper and lower limbs as well as your cable rod and strings. Here was my final choice:
When the boys opened up their gift they were so excited. Our customized bow arrived perfectly, just how I designed it!

They couldn’t wait to take it out. While my husband was teaching our boys how to draw the bow we could instantly see how tight the cable rod was for them. With our Genesis bow, adjusting the tension of the rod was very easy. Making it perfect for our youngest son to use as well. We had ages ranging from 7-12 years old use the bow and it was easy to adapt to each kid.
What I originally thought would make a unique gift for tweens, is actually the perfect gift for all our kids. Plus it’s a gift that none of them will ever out grow. Learn more about Genesis Bows and Archery by following Genesis Archery on YouTube.

I would probably choose green or blue with the black grip and it would be for my nephew.
I would choose black and blue and it would be for my son.
I would do the Original bow, in green, black grip for my son.
My choice would be black and red, but I think I’d let my daughter decide as she is the bow enthusiast in our family 😉
We would probably choose to make it black, orange/blue or camo! So many choices!! If I won it’d be for my son.
I think this would be the perfect new hobby for my Hud. I would probably involve him in the color choice but I bet camo would be involved!
My son loves archery, and he’s a HUGE Packers fan! So, I’d obviously have to make his bow and arrow yellow and green! 🙂
probably pink and purple I have all girls over here! 🙂
