Toy Food Cheesecake
Toy Cheesecake Materials:
- Round Tin
- Light Tan Felt
- Ivory/Off White Felt
- Red Felt
- Red Pom Poms
- Scissors
- Flexible Tape Measure
- Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
Toy Cheesecake Directions:
Measure the tin height and diameter. This tin measured 1-1/2″ high and 6″ in diameter but you can make any size cheesecake you like based on your tin. Cut a piece of cream or ivory colored felt to cover the top of the tin. Attach to the tin with hot glue.
Cut the light tan felt twice as high as the tin (3″ in this case) and long enough to wrap around the tin. Use hot glue to glue the felt to the bottom of the tin.
Once it’s glued to the bottom, tuck the felt under, but leaving about 1/2″ above the tin to make the crust. Glue the crust in place.
Cut a red piece of felt about 5″ in diameter and cut the edges so they are irregular and resemble cherry pie filling. Glue to the top of the cream colored felt.
Add red pom poms to the top of the red with hot glue to look like cherries.

Notes
There are 4 different flavors of cake slices: birthday cake, orange, chocolate mint, strawberry or cherry. Each one uses the same basic materials and shape. You will use different color sponge and felt for each flavor.
To Make the orange cake slice :
Use an orange sponge to make the cake as directed in the Cake Slice Directions.
Cover the cake with ivory felt as icing. Attach with hot glue.
Cut small strips of felt and fold in half and glue with hot glue to create loop icing designs.
Glue The felt loops to the top and bottom of the outside edge of the slice cake.
Use dark orange felt to cut out an half circle. Cut out 4-5 small triangles from a lighter orange or peach piece of felt for the orange slices. Use hot glue to attach to the cake. Use leftover orange felt scraps to cut out a small strip of scalloped felt and glue next to the ivory loops.
To make the chocolate mint cake slice:
Use a green sponge to make the cake slice. Cover the cake with dark brown felt as icing. Attach with hot glue.
To add icing decorations, cut small trips of brown felt and fold in half lengthwise and glue together.
This will create “chocolate” icing rolls.
Glue the rolls of brown felt onto the thick end of the cake.
Make mint leaves to put on top of the cake. Cut out small leaves out of green felt and attach to the top of the cake.
To make strawberry/cherry cake:
Use a pink sponge to make the cake slice. Cover the cake with pink and white felt as icing. Attach with hot glue.
Add a red pom as a strawberry/cherry with hot glue to the top. Add a leaf cut out of green felt. Add icing details with white puffy paint.
