I am in the (very slow) process of re-decorating the bedroom that our daughter’s share. The previous “theme” was Pink Disaster Area. I thought it might be time to get organized and find a place for all the Barbies and Squinkies and find a nice theme to add to the already pink room. We decided on a ballet theme since Ella is very much in love with ballet right now. My sister picked up a ballet calendar for us at her Borders clearance sale and we’re waiting for that to arrive to put some pictures on the wall.
Meanwhile, I had the inspiration that these paper pom-poms would add a nice touch to this very girly room. I have a tendency to overdo it when I find tissue paper on clearance after Christmas so I had plenty of tissue paper on hand. The directions called for floral wire, but I did not have an of that. Instead, I just tied a piece of yarn in the middle of the accordion.
I used 10 sheets of tissue paper and I rounded off the edges after I folded them accordion style. Then you just (carefully) start pulling the sheets apart.
We just put them on thumbtacks and yarn and stuck them in the ceiling. They are frilly and lovely and Ella wants at least 100 more. Good think I have a lot of tissue paper.
These are super quick and cheap to make…and if you are REALLY lucky, Buzz Lightyear might stop by for a tea party after you’ve put them up!
