Looking for the best kids shoes? I was tired of my kids’ shoes wearing out after only a month. We tried out Stride Rite’s Made 2 Play Collection and they may be the best kids shoes we’ve owned yet!

Last month I asked my friends on Facebook for shoe suggestions for my kids.  My kids wear out shoes faster than they outgrow them and I was getting tired of constantly buying new shoes. I wanted suggestions for kids shoes that my kids would outgrow before they wore them out. I got a lot of suggestions for brands I’ve never heard of. But a few of my friends suggested Stride Rite shoes. My kids have had Stride Rite shoes before, but it’s been a few years and I decided to give them another look.

We headed to the Stride Rite store mostly because I wasn’t sure what size shoes I needed to buy, but Stride Rite also has a website if there isn’t a store nearby.  I was specifically looking for Stride Rite’s Made 2 Play shoes.  I did a little research and liked what I saw in the Made 2 Play line.

Stride Rite Washable Shoes for Boys

Made 2 Play shoes are machine washable, have dirt shedding soles and have an anti-stinking lining to keep them odor free.  Did I mention I bought these for a boy who specializes in dirt and stink? Made 2 Play shoes also have a “grip and go” strap making them super easy for kids to put them on by themselves. My son hasn’t asked me once for help getting the shoes on or off.  My kids shoes wear out first in the toe area, but the Made 2 Play shoes have reinforced toes for durability.  For some reason my kids are obsessed with memory foam in their shoes and guess what – Made 2 Play has a memory foam insole so that was an easy sell. But most of all, Made 2 Play gets high user ratings – consistently 4.5-5 star reviews.

Now, I will admit that the Made 2 Play were a bit of a hard sell to my son because he wanted shoes with super heroes.  But I was able to convince him to give them a try and now he absolutely loves them.  The kid hasn’t taken them off except to sleep since the minute we bought them. He wore them out of the store and has been a happy camper ever since. And so far, the shoes have held up well. I have seriously bought shoes that didn’t last a week in the past but the Stride Rite Made 2 Play may just be the best kids shoes yet.
