Cook an easy strawberry cobbler with cake mix right in your slow cooker. You only need 3 ingredients to make a delicious dessert that will be ready in a few hours.
Nothing says summer quite like a strawberry dessert. But there’s only so much strawberry shortcake you can eat in a few month’s time. Strawberry cobbler to the rescue!
This is basically a strawberry dump cobbler recipe made with canned strawberry pie mix, cake mix and butter. You could add a few fresh strawberries, too, for a little more summer flavor.
Slow Cooker Strawberry Cobbler with Cake Mix
Like of all our easy slow cooker cobbler recipes, this slow cooker strawberry cobbler only needs 3 ingredients – pie filling, cake mix and butter.
We used a strawberry cake mix on ours, but you can be creative! Try Funfetti, lemon, yellow or white cake mixes.
Empty the cans of strawberry pie filling into the crock of a 4 quart slow cooker. We use straight up pie filling but you could add a few fresh berries to the mix, too.
Top the pie filling with the entire box of cake mix. Spread it evenly over the fruit filling.
Chop an entire stick (half cup) of butter in to small pieces. Evenly place on top of the cake mix in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 3-5 hours.
The cobbler is done when the pie filling is bubbling and the cake is cooked through. You can use a toothpick to test for doneness. Allow the cobbler to cool before serving. It will be very hot when it’s just done cooking.
