Nothing says fall like pumpkin coffee and nothing helps people connect more than a big cup of steaming java.  Instant pumpkin spice latte mix is a great gift to give away or keep a jar on hand for an easy coffee when friends drop by.

I think one of the easiest ways to connect with people is over food and drink.  I bet your first date  with your spouse or significant other included some type of food and drink! We have a new neighbor and she just had her first baby so what did I do? I made her dinner, of course!  Now that her son is a few months old and she’s feeling the full brunt of sleep deprivation, I decided to gift her a little pumpkin goodness.

I kind of remember those first few months with a newborn, but mostly they are really blurry due to lack of sleep.  I lived on coffee, but making a pot of coffee often seemed like an insurmountable task.  All that measuring and thinking was too much.  So I came up with a quick and easy instant pumpkin spice latte mix for my neighbor.   The mix requires just two ingredients –  Nescafe Taster’s Choice instant coffee and Nestle Coffee-mate Pumpkin Spice creamer.

The Taster’s Choice makes pretty strong coffee, so I used a ratio of 1 part Taster’s Choice to 3 parts Coffee-mate creamer.   But if you like a stronger coffee flavor just adjust the proportions.  Just add 1-2 teaspoons of the mix to 6 ounces of hot water for an instant pumpkin spice latte.  The whipped cream is of course totally optional.

I packaged up a mini-loaf of pumpkin bread because it goes great with pumpkin coffee.  My neighbor was thrilled to receive her little package and we spent about half an hour chatting when I dropped the gifts off to her.  It was a great way to connect with my neighbor and hopefully build a relationship with her.

Instant Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients

• 2 Tablespoons Nescafe Taster's Choice instant coffee
• 6 Tablespoons Nestle Coffe-mate Pumpkin Spice Creamer

Instructions

2. Whisk the coffee and the creamer together. Store in a sealed container.
3. When ready to use, add 1-2 teaspoons of the coffee mix to 6 ounces of hot water. Stir to combine. Add whipped cream if desired.
