My family loves pineapple so a pineapple whip has quickly become a favorite summer treat. we love our summer drinks around here! Strawberry shakes are often requested by the kids as is making ice cream in a bag. I personally prefer iced coffee, but these pineapple whips are definitely a treat when I want something sweet. I love that these are easy to make right in your ice cream maker with a few simple ingredients.
This past May at a Six Flags amusement park, I finally had my very first Dole Pineapple Whip. I had seen the recipe floating around the blogosphere and read about the whips being a fun treat at Disney World so when I spied them at Six Flags, I made a bee line to get one. And oh my, they did not disappoint.
So with some leftover pineapple juice from sangria‘s on hand, I hunted down recipes, compared some notes and came up with one that you can make right in your ice cream maker! You can eat this right out of the ice cream maker or freeze it for later. I liked both!
This recipe makes a lot. I had to do two batches in my ice cream maker (I have this Cuisinart ice cream maker) and we have a lot leftover (darn).
