Piglet’s Pigs in a Blanket are a fun treat to eat while enjoying a book-themed pajama party!
My son is in half-day Kindergarten this year and his afternoons at home with mom are boring. All of his friends and his sister are away at school while he is stuck home with me. I decided that he and I would have a little Pajama Jam Reading Party.
There is nothing my kids love more than a party. Throw in a pair of pajamas, food, and flashlights and they will be there with bells on. So I really love that Scholastic and EVEREADY® are teaming up to help parents shine a light on reading by throwing a Pajama Jam Reading party. They even have a great Pajama Jam Reading Party Toolkit to help you plan your party. I took their idea to set a theme for the party and chose one of my favorite kids books, Winnie the Pooh.
I got out some sleeping bags, the book, and of course, a life sized stuffed Winnie the Pooh. Don’t worry – that last one is totally optional! Then I made pigs in a blanket in honor of little Piglet in the Winnie the Pooh stores for us to snack on as we read. I made the pigs in a blanket with mini-sausages and a tube of crescent rolls. Super easy and yummy.
We had a great time snacking and sharing some quality reading time together! We’re all set to do another Pajama Jam Reading Party with big sister and this time in the dark so we can use our EVEREADY® flashlights to read by. Find out more information, and learn how to get a free book, on the Scholastic Reading in The Dark website!
Scholastic and EVEREADY® are teaming up to help parents shine a light on reading, even in the dark! EVEREADY®’s high quality batteries and flashlights are reliable and affordable and can be purchased at Dollar General or Target.
