Chocolate covered pretzels are a holiday staple. One of my favorites are chocolate covered pretzels with peppermint. My husband, however, doesn’t love peppermint so I wanted to come up with a different flavor that he would enjoy. I’m all about orange this season. I made an orange cranberry white chocolate fudge and my husband loved it. I realized I could combine white chocolate with orange and dip the pretzels in it.
Orange and White Chocolate Pretzels Recipe
I love a short ingredient list and this recipe definitely has that. All you need are pretzels, Nestle Tollhouse Premier White Morsels, and orange essential oil.
I’m not picky about pretzels, but I am picky about chocolate and my oils! It’s important to use an orange essential oil that is safe to ingest. Not all essential oils are created equal. I recommend Young Living Essential Oils.
Making chocolate covered pretzels is pretty straight forward. Melt the chocolate, add the oil and dip the pretzels. I use a Wilton Chocolate Melting Pot to melt chocolate and I love it! It’s one of my favorite kitchen gadgets ever. Once the chocolate is melted, I added orange oil a drop at a time. I ended up using 9 drops of essential oil.
I tried several different ways of dipping the pretzels. I found that the best way to get a clean dip was to scoop the pretzel out of the chocolate with a fork, then grab the sides with my fingers and use the fork to clean out the chocolate caught in the holes.
I gently laid them on wax paper to set. I sprinkled orange sugar on a few of the pretzels so people would know they were orange flavored. Overall, these are an easy and delicious twist on chocolate dipped pretzels.
