Orange cranberry margarita cocktail recipe is easy to make. The mix of cranberry and orange makes them the perfect holiday cocktail.
Chelsey from Budget Girl here! Who else is psyched for the holiday season? This will be the first year we get to dress up our house, so I’m pretty pumped. Plus, holiday cocktails are the best cocktails.
In September, I went home to West Virginia for my mom’s surprise 50th birthday party. She loves margaritas, so that played into the theme. Long story short, my husband and I wound up coming home with leftover tequila, triple sec, and margarita mix. No complaints here!
We’re not huge fans of regular lime margarita mix, though. And since I’d already written about my dad’s margarita tequila shots recipe, I decided to try something new. Something holiday-ish. And I love cranberry-flavored everything around the holidays. So these cranberry orange margaritas were perfect!
Orange Cranberry Margarita Cocktail Recipe
- 1.5 parts tequila
- 1 part triple sec
- 1 part orange juice
- 2 parts cranberry juice
- Ice
Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake lightly, until condensation forms on the shaker. Pour into glasses and serve!
I’ve tried this with cubed ice and crushed ice. I’ve found that both water the drink down too quickly, so a cocktail shaker was needed. The only way I would add ice to this and stir would be if it was frozen juice, or even pieces of frozen fruit. Some liquors taste pretty good watered down, but tequila is not one of them.
This recipe makes one cocktail. If you want to serve a bunch, you can pour all the ingredients into a pitcher and stir. If you want to keep them cold, store the pitcher in the fridge or keep it on ice. Or, do what I did for these photos, and drop some frozen cranberries in there. Nom.

Should this be straight cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail?
Whichever you prefer! We used straight juice.
I found this on Pinterest, and we served it at our Christmas Eve tamale dinner. It was a hit! My husband made a pitcher of it and then shook up each drink for our family and friends. We’ll be making it again for our New Year’s Day black-eyed pea party. It’s tasty and not too sweet. Thanks for a great recipe!
Pinned & shared. Thanks for joining the Inspiration Spotlight party. It will be back live this week.
I’m a sucker for all things margarita and always looking for new flavor combinations. This cranberry margarita looks so good with the orange juice added in. The sweetness of the juice really seems to balance out the tartness! Thanks for sharing with Saucy Saturdays!
