This easy no sew table runner will be the center piece of your Super Bowl party.Ā Use simple felt, ribbon and glue to create a football themed decoration perfect for serving Mexican Corn Dip, Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches and a big pitcher full of Pineapple Sangria.
This year we are hosting our very fist Super Bowl party.Ā My husband is so excited about it that he put it on our synced family calendar in October.Ā We’re planning to keep our guest list small – mostly family and maybe a few close friends – but I still want to create a fun football themed atmosphere, preferably with little effort on my part!
I saw this no sew table runner underneath a football themed food photo on Pinterest.Ā I dug around and found the original tutorial atĀ the Simmworks Family Blog. However, after I’d gotten my materials together I forgot to take a look and see how Danielle did it. Have I mentioned I don’t follow directions well?Ā So mine looks entirely different.
I bought a yard and a half of green felt, which was way too much. Half of a yard would probably suffice.Ā I cut the felt down to size and then had to figure out where to put the ribbon. I used 5/8″ satin ribbon for the field markings.Ā My end zones are 5″ wide and each yard line is about 3″ apart.Ā I cut 1″ pieces of ribbon for the hash marks in between the yard lines.
I ended up needing just over 1 roll of ribbon and of course I only bought one to start with.Ā But in total, I think this took me less than half an hour to put together.Ā I’m thrilled with the way it turned out. My kids want to play football with their Barbies and action figures on it so you can even use it after the Super Bowl!

Cute idea for football parties or just celebrating the big game at home with the family! Thanks for sharing with us at Family Joy Blog linky party.
Very creative idea. Those of us without the gift of ever learning how to sewing really appreciate it! Lol.
These decorating ideas are so cute for a super bowl party. These could even be used for a birthday party. My son loves football. He loves it so much that every day I get home from work, he asks me to come play football with him. His birthday is coming up so I may try out these decorations. He would love it.
Definitely! This would be adorable under a football party spread.
