Monthly Menu Plan, March 2012

I am a huge believer in menu planning because it saves me time, money and stress!  For years I’ve been menu planning on a weekly basis, but this month I’m giving monthly menu planning a shot.   Truth be told, as much as I love having a menu plan, I hate the actual process of planning.  I figure if I sit down and do it once a month, rather than every single week, I only have to dread it once a month.

I sat down and made a list of new recipes I want to try and then filled in with tried and true meals we like — all based on what I have in my freezer and pantry.  I then made a grocery list of items I need to buy to fill in.  I made a note on Sunday of each week as to what fresh items I need to buy that week.  The rest of the pantry items I went and purchased so I have everything on hand.  I also printed out all the new recipes and paper clipped them to the back of my menu. We’ll see how it goes!

Week 1

  • Beer Can Chicken
  • Wild Rice Soup (new recipe)
  • Beef Curry (new recipe)
  • Stuffed Shells (eat one and freeze one)
  • Homemade Pizza

Week 2

Week 3

  • Lasagne (new recipe)
  • Honey Chicken (new recipe)
  • Hot Beef Sandwiches
  • Italian Wedding Soup
  • Chicken Rice Bake (freezer meal)

Week 4

  • Pulled Pork Tacos (new recipe)
  • Chicken Curry
  • Asian Lettuce Wraps (new recipe)
  • Hamburgers on the grill
  • Homemade Pizza
