Yesterday I posted my monthly menu plan. I menu plan because it saves me time, money and a lot of stress! I used to spend all day worrying about what I was going to make for dinner. But I know that for a lot of people, menu planning itself can cause a lot of stress, too! It can be hard to try and sit down on one day and figure out what’s for dinner all week (or month!) long.
I was really happy to find Food on the Table meal planning service. Food on the Table is an easy meal planning service that is based on sales at local grocery stores. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Whole Foods is one of the stores available to make my grocery list! After you pick your stores, you choose foods you eat (meat, vegetarian, etc) and then how you like to cook (slow cooker, casseroles, etc). There is also a section to indicate dietary restrictions.
After you’ve set your shopping and food preferences, it’s time to get your recipes together. I was pleased to see that you can choose to either use Food on the Table’s recipes or you can put in your own! I love that! The next step is to choose your recipes for the week — either yours or theirs. Once you’ve chosen your recipes for the week, Food on the Table generates a shopping list based on the recipes. You can add and delete items from list based on what you have on hand.
The final step is to generate your shopping list. You can print it, email it or even send it to your cell phone.
