Like many of you, I’m a busy mom. I’m constantly juggling cooking, cleaning, and working with my family’s busy schedule that seems to just get busier every year. As the kids get older and involved in more activities it means that we eat out at restaurants more often for dinner than we ever have. I don’t mind eating out, but it’s important to me to know what’s in the food we’re eating and where it comes from.
My kids are 5 and 8 and their favorite place in the whole world to eat is McDonald’s. The kids love both the food and the play area. My 8 year old is a budding socialite and she loves to meet new kids to play with in the play area – and often invites them to her birthday party! We often get a little cabin fever during our super hot summers and McDonalds gives the kids a chance to get some energy out while also getting fed. I appreciate that McDonald’s gets their food from many of the same suppliers that I buy at the grocery store. McDonald’s keeps costs down bybuying in bulk, which is exactly the same thing I do on food that we eat a lot of.
While the kids may go for the chicken nuggets, I’m a fan of McDonad’s coffee. I was thrilled when they introduced their McCafe Coffee. I’m even a bigger fan of the fact that McDonald’s serves 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified Espresso in all their restaurants. Pair the coffee with the play area and the free Wi-Fi available in most restaurants and everyone is a happy when we go to McDonald’s!
