I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Littlest Pet Shop. I received a sample to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating.
With Christmas approaching, I start thinking way too much about toys. My kids want every single crazy toy they see on TV. The problem is tht I know most of that stuff will be played with for maybe an hour on Christmas day and then it will never be touched again. I can’t tell you how many must have Christmas gifts have ended up in the donation pile within months. It’s very frustrating! So I try very hard to get my kids toys I know they will play with rather ones they think they want. One tried and true toy in our home has been Littlest Pet Shop toys.
Both my son and daughter will spend hours playing with their little pets. Littlest Pet Shop has a new line of “Downtown” toys where kids can mix and match different play sets to create their own unique downtown for their pets. To help spread the word about their new toys, Littlest Pet Shop asked us to host a few friends over to try out the new toys! We received Blythe’s Bedroom Style Set and Littlest Pet Shop Style Set.
I put the toys together before the kids arrived. My daughter and son helped me personalize the sets with the Deco Bits, unique, small accessories
that plug into the environments for a little added glamour – as well as stickers and other decorative pieces. I thought it was really fun that the sets stack on top of each other to create tall buildings, but my kids preferred to play with them side by side. I think it was easier to see in to them and to get more kids playing.
They had a ball taking turns decorating the inside of Blythe, a new Littlest Pet Shop character, bedroom. At one point there were monkeys hanging from the chandelier!
After playing with the sets, the kids took a break to check out new episodes of The Littlest Pet Shop animated program, now showing on The Discovery Channel. These were a big hit and the kids loved seeing the pets and their environments come to life in the show.
I made up a big batch of Puppy Chow for the kids to snack on while watching the DVD. It was all well and good until a little monkey and a few of her friends decided to try and sneak in a few bites for themselves! The kids thought it was hilarious to catch the pets trying to steal food. If you are looking for a great toy for the holidays, definitely check out the new Littlest Pet Shop toys.
