Need a simple dessert recipe for the holidays? This sweet dip recipe is ready in just a few minutes with just two ingredients. Serve with graham crackers or as a delicious fruit dip.
It’s just about that time of the year – holiday party season!
We seem to have parties for every group we are involved with and while it’s a ton of fun, trying to find an easy recipe to bring stresses me out. I’m usually in the thick of holiday baking and cooking so the last thing I want is a super involved recipe.
I checked out Yoplait Greek Whips! recently. I found them at Walmart in the refrigerated section near the cream cheese. My son loves to snack on yogurt and I was picking up a few containers for him.
I spied cream cheese next to the yogurt and I wondered could use the yogurt to make a quick and easy dip recipe. So I grabbed an extra container and decided to give it a try.
I used one container of the Greek Whips and one block of cream cheese. If you want to lighten things up, use Neufechtal cheese in place of the cream cheese.
I wasn’t sure if the yogurt would provide enough flavor for the dip to really taste like lemon, but it worked perfectly. My son is also a big fan of the Greek Whips for snacking – in case you wanted to grab a few extra from Walmart.
I did a trial run of the dip with a group of friends and served it with graham crackers as the “crust” of the lemon meringue pie. The dip was great with the crackers and I think it would also be delicious with an assortment of fruit. I’d wished I’d brought some strawberries to dip in.
I’m so happy to have another quick and easy dessert recipe to bring along to holiday parties or football games or wherever we go. How else can you have a lemon meringue pie without all the fuss?
