If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you may remember that I used to homeschool my daughter. I’ve spent a fair amount of time researching curriculum and homeschooling options. One of my favorite curriculums was K¹². In fact, we almost enrolled our daughter in the K¹² 1st grade this past fall. I was pretty excited to learn that K¹² has a brand new Kindergarten readiness program, EmbarK12 Comprehensive- Online and hands-on preschool program for your early learner.. My son missed the Kindergarten cut off this year by two months and I really wanted to have something for him to do at home, but just never got around to finding something. We were pretty happy to try out EmbarK¹² for a few weeks.
One of the things I love most about EmbarK¹² is the hands-on curriculum – the books and resources are amazing! It’s like EmbarK¹² took my homeschool wish list, put in a box and shipped it to me. We got a ton of great children’s literature like ChickA ChickA Boom Boom. We received teddy bear counters. Cubix cubes for measuring, maps, globes, flags, letter and number magnets and a whole lot more. My son has spent hours “playing” with the different resources.
The EmbarK¹² program is composed of 18 thematic units covering 6 subjects: Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Music, and Art. Examples of themes include: Family and Friends, My Five Senses, and Looking at Animals. The program is available as an on-line only version with over 1,200 age-appropriate activities, engaging children using a wide variety of interactive multimedia and hands-on materials – over 288 hours of activities in all! Or it’s also available with the EmbarK¹² Comprehensive, which is both the on-line version plus all the goodies we received.
I looked in to pre-school for my son and couldn’t find anything under $150 per month. The entire, year long, EmbarK¹² Comprehensive is only $286! For the on-line version and the amazing kit of resources. There isn’t a better deal available to get your child Kindergarten ready. Want ot learn more?
