I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for OshKosh B’gosh. I received a gift card to facilitate my shopping trip and to thank me for participating.
This past fall, while doing back to school shopping for kids clothing, I accidentally stumbled upon a shopping technique that has changed the way I shop for kids clothing. I usually spend my time shopping scouring the clearance and sale racks. I got great deals, but my kids ended up with a mish mash of clothes that really didn’t match and they didn’t want to wear.
So this fall I focused instead on colors when buying my daughters school wardrobe. Everything she owns is pink, purple, or turquoise with a few black pants thrown in. It all matches so she always matches no matter what she wears. It was an epiphany to me to avoid the clearance racks and instead purchase clothes that all match.
This spring it’s my son’s turn. I started noticing that his pants and sleeves are starting to get too short and with spring around, the corner, it was time to freshen up his wardrobe. So we headed to OshKosh B’gosh to check out their spring line. I took the same approach with his clothes as I had with my daughters in the fall. I stuck to jeans for bottoms and blue and yellow for shirts.
I actually used the outfits that Oshkosh B’Gosh had put together in the store for inspiration. I bought these three short sleeve shirts – two boys tees and one polo. You can see the turquoise stripe in the collar on the polo matches the turquoise in the car tee shirt. The blue in the yellow shark matches the blue in the polo. So far, so good!
Then I picked two long sleeve, button down shirts to layer over the short sleeve shirts. He is really in to button down shirts right now so I knew he’d have no problem using these two shirts on cooler days. He can also wear them alone. All three of the short sleeves shirts can be worn underneath either of the button downs because they are all the same color scheme. Endless possibilities and he’ll match no matter what combination he chooses.
He also needed new shoes and I could not pass up these adorable boat shoes. The blue shoe laces match his wardrobe and brown is a neutral so they work. Plus his grandpa has a similar pair and he loves to dress like daddy and grandpa.
Here’s how it all comes together. I was really pleased to find that OshKosh B’gosh carries jeans in slim, regular, and husky sizes. My guy is super skinny so we needed the slim with the adjustable waist pulled all the way in. They also had several different styles of jeans so we were able to get two different styles plus a pair of jean shorts for warmer days.
The best part is that I spent a little over $100 for a complete spring wardrobe. Plus I got $20 in B’Gosh Rewards to use on a future purchase. I’m heading back this weekend with the 20% off coupon below to take advantage of OshKosh B’gosh’s President’s Day sale! Check out the OshKosh B’gosh store locator to find the store nearest you!
