When my husband and I got engaged we were both sleeping in twin beds. In fact, I was still sleeping in the twin daybed I’d had pretty much my entire life. We quickly realized that once we got married, the two twin bed situation wasn’t going to work. We decided to use any money that we were given as wedding gifts to buy the best king sized bed we could afford. Thus began the great mattress hunt.
One day we were killing time at the mall waiting for our car to get fixed when we spied a SLEEP NUMBER® store. It was definitely serendipity because after spending a good hour testing out the SLEEP NUMBER® beds, we were hooked. Two weeks after our wedding, our brand new SLEEP NUMBER® bed arrived. We both agree to this day, 11 years later, that buying a SLEEP NUMBER® bed was one of the best purchases we’ve ever made.
So now we’ve spent over a decade sleeping in our SLEEP NUMBER® bed and we have been debating whether we need a new one. Ok, you don’t need a new SLEEP NUMBER® bed after 10 years, but we might want to upgrade. So we headed over to a brand new SLEEP NUMBER® store near our home to check out what is new in SLEEP NUMBER® beds.
Let me tell you, SLEEP NUMBER® bed technology has kept up with the times. We were blown away by the upgrades SLEEP NUMBER® has made in the past 11 years. Most notably, SLEEP NUMBER® has recently added SleepIQ® technology that gives you the knowledge to adjust the SLEEP NUMBER® for your best sleep. Check out this video:
Sensors working directly with Advanced DualAir™ technology inside the Sleep Number bed measure average breathing rate, average heart rate, movement and bed presence to show you the quality of your sleep. You add the SleepIQ app to your phone or mobile device and it tracks how well you sleep each night. So you can make adjustments to your Sleep Number to see if that will help you get a better nights sleep. You don’t have to do anything special. There is nothing to wear, nothing to turn on. You just sleep and then check the app to see how well you slept.
We discovered years ago on our first visit to Sleep Number that my husband likes a much firmer mattress than I do. My Sleep Number is a 35-40 and his is a 75-80! Imagine trying to find a mattress that meets both our comfort levels. I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad nights sleep due to our Sleep Number bed and I swear it has helped with the snoring (although not scientifically proven!). The new SleepIQ would definitely help anyone get a great night of sleep.
The best way to get a feel for Sleep Number beds is to go in to the store to try them out. Check out the Sleep Number store locator to find the Sleep Number store near you.
