A Hotspot for Moms On The Go

A wireless hotspot can be a great asset for busy mom’s on the go.  As a Sprint Mom Ambassador, Sprint provided me with a Netgear Zing Hotspot so I could see how it fit in to my busy lifestyle!  I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Sprint. I received product samples to facilitate my review.

We are now in our third week of public school.  After homeschooling last year, this school year has been a huge change for us.  Three-fourths of us are pretty happy with the changes we’ve made, but one of us is having a hard time adjusting.  My little guy is four and won’t turn 5 until the end of November.  Our cut off for Kindergarten is the end of September so while big sister goes to school, little brother is home alone with me and that has been a big adjustment.

The hardest part about being home alone with mom is that my son lost his playmate. It’s been quite an adjustment for both him and me. I was used to a block of time each day when the kids played together and I was able to work.  Now I’m having to be inventive and find places where he has kids to play with and I can work. the problem is that I work 90% on-line and need internet access, which isn’t always available.  I can only spend so many mornings at a fast food restaurant, you know?

And then the Netgear Zing hotspot,  powered by Sprint, arrived on my doorstep and now, I have freedom!  We can go anywhere we want and I can work.  I can work at the park. I can work at gymnastics. I can work at the football field. It’s a beautiful thing especially for this work at home mama who seems to be always on the go.  My husband even took it with him on a trip to San Diego with his high school band and was able to work while on the bus and avoided costly WiFi fees at his hotel.

The Zing is a fun little hotspot. It’s about the size of an iPhone so it’s easily portable.  We can hook up to 10 devices to the hotspot so any friends we meet up with can also log on to the hotspot.   The Zing is equipped with the latest wireless encryption technology so that personal data/information is not shared when lending out your mobile hotspot. As one of the first 4G LTE mobile hotspot from Sprint the Zing is pretty fast.  It is just slightlyt slower than our high speed cable internet at home. Not too shabby!

I love having a hotspot. I don’t like using public wifi so this comes in handy a lot.

I have been looking for hotspots since my family has been doing a lot of traveling recently. This looks like a great device.
