My kids start school at 7:25 AM. I drop them off by 7:15 AM.  They eat lunch around 11 AM and school dismisses at 2:30 PM. By time they get to the car and we get home, it’s nearly 3 PM.  There is one word to describe my kids at 3 PM on a school day: HANGRY.  But thanks to our sponsor, Tree Top’s Applesauce Pouches, I’ve learned to tame the after schools and avoid hangry kids.

Hangry Kid

Hangry is grumpiness caused by hunger and my kids specialize in after school hanger.  In a perfect world I’d have a snack ready to be eaten when the walk in the door from school.  Not so much. I’m usually working right up until I hear the car door slam outside signaling they are home. Or we’re jetting off to an after school activity. I seem to constantly forget about the after school hanger.  See that face up there? That’s a kid who is HANGRY!

I’ve learned to stock the kitchen with snacks that are ready to go when the kids walk in the door or that we can easily take on the road. Tree Top’s Apple Sauce Pouches are perfect for dealing with after school hanger both at home and on the go. My kids go from hangry to happy in about the time it takes to fill their bellies with applesauce.  Tree Top is a grower-owned cooperative located right in the state of Washington. I love that they source they use USA grown apples and locally sourced ingredients for their applesauce.

The best part – my kids love Tree Top’s Apple Sauce pouches.  He went from Hangry to Happy in about 2 minutes thanks to a full tummy and a little snuggle time on the couch.  Keeping a few pouches in the car – just in case – helps to avoid hangry meltdowns when on the go, too.
