Benjamin Franklin wrote that “if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” I have found that to be so true in all areas of my life. Whether it’s something big like planning for college for the kids or the small things like what’s for lunch, if I have a plan I’m much more likely to succeed. That’s why I’m loving this fitness and food planner – so I can plan ahead and keep track of my food and exercise.
At the beginning of 2014 I decided I needed to get my act together when it came to food and exercise. I lost 30 lbs in the first 6 months of making changes to my lifestyle and then hot weather and summer hit and I got off track. I haven’t gained any weight back (yay!), but I haven’t lost anymore weight either (boo!). I knew that the key to success was to really plan ahead and track my progress. So I created this very colorful planner to help me out.
The fitness and food planner has several different trackers and planners. My favorites are the food tracker, meal planner and work out schedule. I use the meal planner to help make sure I’m eating the food I want instead of eating food I don’t want because I’m “hangry” (hungry + angry – ha ha!). One of the biggest changes I made to my diet was to eat a protein packed breakfast to really jump start my day. I also love to include as many fruits and veggies at breakfast as I can and smoothies are a great way to do that.
I broke out our blender, stocked the freezer with frozen fruit, and started playing with milk alternatives to add protein. I live in a desert, literally, so I’m already a big water drinker, but I included a water tracker if you need help adding more fluids to your day. We still do drink soda because I love the stuff and I actually really love cooking with it. I’m a realist when it comes to eating and I refuse to completely cut out the foods I love. I just keep track of what I’m eating so I don’t overdo it.
