Don’t forget the kids when celebrating this summer! Instead whip up this super easy kids drink recipe so everyone can have fun.
Over Memorial Day weekend, I made a fun white wine red, white, and blue sangria recipe to go with our shrimp boil. Just a little hello, summer drink. My kids were fascinated.
After answering questions all weekend long as to why they couldn’t have any, I decided to just make them their own version.
This isn’t really a “recipe.” It’s basically sparkling apple juice with berries in it. That’s it. But boy were my kids happy about it.
I had intended to make this easy kids drink recipe with white grape juice to mimic the wine and then add a splash of orange juice in place of Triple Sec. But in looking around for the grape juice, I found sparkling apple juice on the shelf at the store.
My kids love that stuff and it provides a little bubbly, which makes every kids drink more fun. I also picked up OJ to splash in.
For the first round, I filled the cups with berries, added the sparking apple juice and then put in some orange juice.
But the OJ made the entire kids drink turn orange. Total bummer. I wanted it to look clear like our sangria did.
So for the next try, I left out the orange juice. No one cared but me but I felt like the drink looked more like sangria with just the apple juice in it.
Peach juice or white grape juice would be a fun addition. Or go red with some cranberry juice. Any way you make it, the kids are sure to love having their own special drink recipe for the summer.
