Deciding to host a holiday party can be tricky when trying to pick a date in December. It seems like everyone is just super busy already.  But about 10 years ago a friend of mine started hosting a party on December 23rd – Christmas Eve Eve. It is the perfect date for a party because almost no one has plans that close to Christmas. It's also a great way to kick off the celebrating of Christmas.

A Christmas Eve Eve party is particularly fun if you include both adults and kids – and even the fur babies. Having food and activities for all ages makes the party a fun evening for all.  We've partnered with a few great brands to show you how to put together a Christmas Eve Eve party no one will forget!

Christmas Eve Eve Party Ideas for Families

For the Adults:

Nothing says a great Christmas party like delicious food and drinks. One of my favorite party foods is a great cheese platter.  Cheese, nuts, cured meats, fruits, spreads and crackers can creatively be combined for a fun holiday appetizer.

Serving gourmet cheeses is a fun way to try something new at your party. We used Castello Aged Havarti, Castello Gouda, and Castello Traditional Danish Blue on our cheese board. I then added nuts, pretzels, and salami.

If you need some ideas on how to build a cheese board, check out Castello's online Cheese Board Builder! It will help you create the perfect selection of cheeses and accompaniments for your board.

Make it easy for guests to pick out their favorite cheeses and snacks with Snowflake Hors D’oeuvres Picks from Cracker Barrel.

The picks come in sets of 6. Leave them out near the cheese board so guests can snag cheese cubes with out using their fingers. Plus the snowflake tops add a little festivity to the plates.

You can order the cocktails picks from Cracker Barrel's website and get 30% off with the code SHOP30!

Make a slow cooker full of our Slow Cooker Mulled Wine Recipe or serve Chocolate Peppermint Martinis along with a great cheese board.

For the Kids:

A Christmas Eve Eve party is the perfect opportunity to get a head start on cookies and milk for Santa.

Our family tradition is to bake good old fashioned chocolate chip cookies for Santa. PAM Cooking Spray is essential for making sure the cookies don't stick to the cookie sheets when baking. Just a quick spritz is enough to keep all of the cookies whole and in perfect condition for Santa without adding any extra fat or calories.  And check out the new non-aerosol sprays!

Skip the boring plastic cups and serve the kids milk in these adorable Christmas milk glass bottles from Cracker Barrel.  The milk bottles come in a Santa and a reindeer design. They also make cute table accents and holiday decor. Get one for each kid and let them take it home as a little Christmas gift.

The milk bottles are also available on Cracker Barrel's website. Get 30% off with code SHOP30!

For the Pups:

Make this Chritmas Eve Eve Party for the whole family and invite people to bring their pups. Our dog thinks she's a third child and not actually a dog. She loves to be included in our family events.

Start the party off by making sure the puppy bellies are full. Serve up little dishes of Wellness Core RawRev kibble. Core dog food is green free with freeze dried raw bites of meat.

Once the dogs are fed, keep them busy with WHIMZEES: Daily Dental Chews. With only six primary, all natural ingredients WHIMZEES will keep all of your furry guests breath fresh and even clean their teeth.

Party Decorations:

You can't just have food at a party. You also need some decorations. Christmas Central is a great website to find everything you need to decorate your home for the party and Christmas. From stockings to trees to throw pillows – they have it all!  This adorable 3 foot Santa would make a great decoration near the kids cookie table at the party.

Pick up some festive throw pillows to add to your couch and chairs for an easy way to add holiday spirit to your home.

We hope these ideas and products will inspire you to start a new holiday tradition this year by throwing a Christmas Eve Eve party that is fun for the whole family!
