Last month I used an Acer Iconia A1 tablet to find apps to plan Thanksgiving. It was such a huge success, that I am now using the tablet to make our family Christmas a little more fun. The Acer is an Android based tabled with an Intel Dual-Core processor for speedy processing. It has 16 GB of memory so there is plenty of room for all your Thanksgiving photos (and a cool app to add fun frames to them!). The 7.9″ display is just large enough to be able to track Santa on Christmas Eve. You can click here to learn more about Intel Tablets!
There are a ton of fun Christmas apps for families, but I narrowed my list down to my top 5 that we’ve been using and love the most. From Christmas gift lists to gingerbread house making, these Christmas apps will make your holidays brighter.
Google Santa Tracker – Christmas Eve is one of my favorite days of the year! But it is a busy day and we are often out and about. Download Google’s Santa Tracker app and you can hand the tablet over to the kids to see where Santa is. I’ve found this also helps to get excited kiddos in to bed at a half-way decent hour on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Countdown and Trivia – I tried a few different Christmas countdown apps and I liked this one the best. It’s simple and you can even play trivia on it. When you get tired of the kids asking how many days until Christmas, just let them check themselves.
Christmas Gift List – I love this app! I am constantly trying to remember what gifts I have for whom. I try to make sure the kids have an equal number of gifts, but when they are hidden in the corner of my closet, I forget what I have. This app allows me to make a list, set a budget, and mark if the gift is purchased and wrapped.
Gingerbread House Maker – Making gingerbread houses is a lot of fun… and a lot of work! We have a friend who throws a gingerbread house making party every year so we go mess up her house. But this fun app lets you make gingerbread houses all day long with no mess!
My Menorah – My husband was raised Jewish so we like to celebrate Jewish holidays as often as we can. It’s important to us that our kids are raised knowing how their father and his family celebrated holidays. We always celebrate Hanukkah with latkes and donuts! We also have a menorah that I usually remember to light exactly once. I love that this app teaches kids about Hanukkah in a fun and simple way. It’s a very cute app.
