Candy Corn Cocktails are part cocktail, part dessert. They’re delicious and a great festive drink for Halloween!
After the red, white, and blue shooters I made over the summer, I’ve been obsessively trying to come up with new layered cocktails. I had so much fun making that one.
And then a miracle happened–October finally freaking got here. 😛
I love October. I love fall and pumpkins. But I don’t particularly like candy corn (so, naturally, I bought a whole bag for these photos and now I have no idea what to do with them!). Anyway, when my husband suggested I try making a candy corn cocktail, my first thought was, “Ew.” Then I realized I could just make it look like candy corn, without the taste. Which is great, because I don’t even know how I would achieve that taste.
So sorry to any candy corn enthusiasts out there, sorry–this is not going to have the same flavor. But it’s still delicious and way easier to make than my other layered drink.
The last time I layered liquors, I needed a syringe to do it. This time, all we’ll need is a spoon.
First, you mix pineapple juice and pineapple vodka. The measurements for this don’t actually matter, but I’ll include some in the recipe below. You want your juice to be less than half of your drink.
Next, you’re going to take some (mostly) melted orange sherbet. Insert a spoon into the pineapple juice so the bottom is facing up. Gently pour the sherbet onto the spoon, so it slides into the glass. This way, it will layer itself over the pineapple juice.
Once you’re happy with the amount of sherbet you have, top it with some whipped cream.
Basically, this is part cocktail, part dessert. You won’t want to drink too many of them, but they’re delicious and a lot of fun.
I actually wanted to try this with my pumpkin pie liquor, but I didn’t have any left. -_- Maybe next time!
You may not be able to tell from the photos, but if you let this drink sit for too long, the sherbet and pineapple juice will start to mix on its own. It tastes better this way, but if you’re wanting to serve these at a party, you probably don’t want to make them too far ahead of time. (Good thing they’re so easy!)
