Need a groomer for your dog? Check out Petco dog grooming services!
When we adopted our labradoodle, Ginger, a few years ago, I knew that she would need regular trips to a dog groomer. Labradoodles have hair, not fur, that grows pretty much like human hair. It needs to be cut and trimmed up about every 6-8 weeks.
I have had a hard time finding a grooming service that I really like. We have been to numerous groomers in the past three years and they were just OK, but I didn’t really love any of them.
After Ginger’s first camping trip a few weeks ago, she really needed to be bathed and groomed. I’m not sure she could even see us through all that hair in her face. She needed a hair cut before we went camping, but I figured she’d be rolling around in dirt so waited until we got back.
I was so happy with all our Petco camping gear, that we decided to try Petco dog grooming services, too. I don’t know why I hadn’t taken Ginger here before. It was great!
4 Reasons to Love Petco Dog Grooming
A Salon Service for Any Dog: Petco offers an array of dog grooming services and you can pick and choose what services you want. Sometimes in between haircuts, Ginger just needs a bath. Petco offers just baths. Sometimes Ginger just needs her nails trimmed and Petco offers that as well.
The Welcoming Staff: Ginger is a little bit high strung and she can get really nervous when she goes to the groomer. I loved that we could take her in to Petco and just walk her around the store to help her feel comfortable. We went in and talked to the groomer for a while first and then took stroll around.
By the time I was ready to leave her for her services, Ginger was no longer shaking and her tail was happily wagging. The entire staff at Petco helped her feel more comfortable and at ease.
Well Educated Groomers: The groomer at Petco took some time to tell me about some of the services they offer that would be good for Ginger. Our temps in Vegas have been consistently over 110 degrees so our sidewalks and roads are very hot. The groomer suggested a coating on Ginger’s feet to help insulate her paws from getting burned.
I was also able to ask about Ginger’s nails. After they are clipped, her nails are very sharp and scratch. The groomer suggested a package that included buffing Ginger’s nails so they were smooth after clipping.
Happy Dogs: When we picked Ginger up, she was sporting her new summer cut. She had a big smile on her face thanks to the pleasant experience she had at Petco grooming. Usually Ginger is running out of the groomer, but when we picked her up at Petco, she was a happy, chill girl.
