Craft Supplies for Christmas Crafts: Discover Tophatter!

I am smack dab in the middle of holiday crafting.  Of course, I keep adding crafts to my list, which means I am forever on the hunt for crafting supplies at a good price.   I was recently introduced to a new auction website called Tophatter and I was excited to discover that Tophatter has auctions for crafters!

Tophatter is not your normal auction type of website.  There are actual auctions that you attend virtually and bid on lots against other bidders live.  The auctions are run during a set time and you do have to be on-line to bid, but you can have the site send you a text message when an item you are interested in comes up for auction.

There are many different types of auctions on Tophatter. You can buy jewelry, homegoods, handmade items, and, best of all, craft supplies.  It was really hard for me narrow down what I wanted to bid on.  During the auctions the seller is sometimes present and you can ask questions in a chat box about the items.  The seller will also sometimes increase the amount of product included in the auction as the price goes up. It’s a great way to get bulk supplies.

Bakers Twine and Scrabble Tiles from Tophatter

Since I’m in the holiday crafting mood, I decided on a few items to purchase.  I bought Christmas bakers twine for some holiday baking exchanges and a lot of Scrabble pieces.  They just looked like a lot of fun and I have several fun crafts I’ll be creating (and showing you, of course!).

As a special offer, EACH Growing Up Gabel reader will receive a $10 credit when you sign up for Tophatter and spend $11 on an auction. This is a great way to try out the site and get some awesome craft supplies (or jewelry or handmade items)!

Have you discovered the addictive new auction site called Tophatter, where buyers bid for sellers’ unique goods in fast-paced virtual auction rooms? From crafts and DIY projects, to antiques, jewelry, home décor and much more, there’s no limit to what you can discover on Tophatter.

With live auctions every day, sellers get to showcase their wares from around the world to a community of thousands of buyers, and answer questions via chat as the clock ticks down. Each lot sells in an average of two minutes, so buyers must bid quickly!

Tophatter’s auctions become interactive live events where buyers and sellers can hang out, chat, and win. Led by the esteemed Sir Wendell Wattington and his animated family, Tophatter auctions keep the fun rolling in.
