Thanksgiving Apps: How to Have an App-y Thanksgiving

Check out these Thanksgiving apps that will help make your Thanksgiving a success and have an app-y Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Apps

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.  I love spending the day with family and friends and reflecting on the goodness of life.  Thanksgiving does, however, require a little planning.  That turkey isn’t going to cook itself! And keeping the kids entertained is a job itself.  Over the years I’ve found a few tricks to make the day smoother for everyone.  This year I’ve gone completely digital and am using my Intel tablet to plan every aspect of Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving planning

I used to do all my Thanksgiving planning the “old fashioned” way – with a stack of books and magazines and a notepad.  While I still love to thumb through a magazine, I’ve moved my entire life in to the digital realm.  So this year I decided to also do my holiday planning digitally.

Thanksgiving Apps on tablet

I’m using an Acer Iconia A1 tablet to find apps to plan Thanksgiving.  The Acer is an Android based tabled with an Intel Dual-Core processor for speedy processing.  It has 16 GB of memory so there is plenty of room for all your Thanksgiving photos (and a cool app to add fun frames to them!).  The 7.9″ display is just large enough to be able to read recipes for your Thanksgiving spread.  You can click here to learn more about Intel Tablets!

Thanksgiving Food app

I started off looking for some awesome recipe apps to plan our menu.  My favorite one is the Food Network App.  I like that I can pick my recipes based on my favorite chef or by type.  I also liked the Thanksgiving Dishes and Thanksgiving Menu Apps from A&A Group. Don’t forget about that turkey! Download the Butterball Cookbook Plus to learn how to roast a turkey!  The Bourbon and Cola Marinated Roast Turkey recipe looks amazing!

Thanksgiving frames app

But Thanksgiving isn’t all about the food!  There are a ton of apps designed to keep people entertained and to help you commemorate the day.  My favorite is the Thanksgiving Frames app.  My sister and I tested it out and it’s so cute!  My kids had a ball playing Cookie Dozer.   There’s always Thanksgiving Solitaire for the card player in the family.  You can test everyone’s knowledge of Thanksgiving with the Thanksgiving Trivia App.
