A Doll with Significance for Every Little Girl (and A Giveaway)

My 6 year old daughter, like many of her friends, has asked for an 18″ doll for Christmas.  She received a doll for her birthday, but apparently she needs a friend. Now that I know my daughter will actually play with her dolls, I’m more interested in finding something that she can treasure and hopefully pass on to her daughter someday!

This past summer I ran across the doll, Ruth, made by The Freedom Girls.  Ruth is an 18″ doll  based on the Biblical heroine, Ruth.  Each doll comes with a book which is the Biblical story of Ruth written at a child’s level.   I contacted The Freedom Girls and asked if I could review the doll because I was intrigued by the originality of a Bible based doll.  I love Ruth.  She is just beautiful!  I love that her hair is shorter so that it doesn’t tangle or get messy easily.  But mostly, I love that she comes with a life changing story that allows me to introduce my kids to the beautiful story of Ruth.

The Freedom Girls: Ruth

Some people make a fuss about products being manufactured in China. But Jackie and Dan, the creators of The Freedom Girls, like to say that Ruth is “Made in China on purpose”.   Jackie and Dan visited with many people before making the decision to have Ruth made in Asia. They perosinally visited the factory and the owners and were satisfied with what they saw. The factory specializes in collectible dolls and agreed to make Ruth.
Ruth is not mass produced. Every outfit is sewn individually and every face is individually painted. You can definitely see the quality in this doll.   When I took Ruth out of the box, I was amazed at how beautiful she is!  She literally took my breath away.  If you are looking for a high quality doll with a real and significant story for your little girl, then Ruth is the doll you have been looking for!
The Freedom Girls is offering a CYBER MONDAY special today! For today only,  you will receive 2 additional Ruth books with every doll you order that they can be used for Christmas gifts or just to give to someone who doesn’t know Ruth’s story.   For $99 plus shipping, you will receive 1 doll and 3 books total!
This sale has been extended until December 13th!!
In addition, The Freedom Girls is giving away 1 Ruth doll and book set to a lucky Growing Up Gabel reader!  Just enter in the Rafflecopter below!
