Pretend Play with Polly Pocket

Polly Pocket Pet Store Play Set

After her first experience with Polly Pocket a few weeks ago, Ella was elated to discover another Polly Pocket toy waiting for her one morning.  This time she was able to try out the Polly Pocket Playtime Pet Shop Play set.   I was pretty sure she would love this set because she really loves animals.  My sister recently adopted a dog and now Ella wants to move in with her Aunt so that she can see the dog everyday! So this was perfect timing for my pet loving daughter.

Unlike the Hangout House and Stick N Play room, the pet dolls and parts to the pet shop do not have suction cups to help them stay put.  This didn’t seem to phase Ella at all.  In fact, I don’t think she even noticed.  She was too busy having Polly give the dogs baths.  I personally liked the suction cups because they made transporting the house without losing the little pieces a lot easier!  But hey, it’s not about me!

After a while Ella started wondering if there were only Polly dolls since that is all that comes with the play sets. Does Polly have any friends?  Luckily, we were also given a Polly Pocket DVD that included Polly and a group of friends including one boy, which made my son happy.  Both of the kids loved the DVD. In fact, Ella proclaimed it to be her new favorite show!  We don’t have cable so basically the kids only watch DVDs.  I was happy that the DVD is only 22 minutes long. Major bonus! It’s so hard to find short DVDs for my kids.  I like them to have some options other than 45-90 minutes.

Overall, I have been very pleased with the Polly Pocket sets we’ve received.  I will definitely be keeping an eye out as the holidays get closer to see if I can score any sets or other Polly dolls to add to our collection.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel Polly Pocket. I received product samples and a promotional item as thank-you for partiicpating. All opinions are 100% my own!
