Family board games are one of my favorite gifts to give the entire family for Christmas. In fact, this year our family will be receiving three board games as gifts. I like to find unique board games for us to play and Mysterious Creatures by Education Outdoors was just the game!
My kids have recently become very interested in playing board games. We have all the basic board games that most kids grow up playing, but I like to try and find different games for us to play. When we were on vacation in Michigan, my home state, this summer, I ran across a fun card game called S’mores made by Education Outdoors. My sister told me that Education Outdoors was a local company that made several different board games their most popularly being Camp. I picked up the S’mores game and we’ve enjoyed playing it since.
A few months ago Education Outdoors asked if I’d be interested in reviewing their new board game, Mysterious Creatures. Of course, I said yes! I knew that the age range of Mysterious Creatures is slightly above my kids, but absolutely love maps so I figured we’d grow in to the game and just play it at their level for now. During the game each player is assigned a creature and the first person to collect all the evidence about their creature wins.
My kids love this game! They love learning about the different countries they have to travel to while learning about their “mysterious creature”. It’s been a lot of fun for us adults, too, to learn the legends and lore of the different creatures we’ve heard about. I can’t wait to play the game will ALL adults over Christmas when my family is in town!
I really recommend any of the Education Outdoor games for your family! I love that they are a small business putting out high quality games for the entire family. f I personally want to try out their new Snipe Hunt game — have you ever been on a snipe hunt? Or is that just a Michigan thing?
Come back to tonight for a chance to WIN your own Mysterious Creatures board game in the Winter Winnerland Blog Hop Giveaway!

Wow, that looks like a super fun game. And I thought snipe hunts were only something we did here in the South, lol!

Mysterious Creatures sure looks fun! We like maps too. I have to admit I’ve never been on a snipe hunt, but just saw the video and my daughter and I are interested in finding out more about it.
